Quasar Institute for Advanced Design
Quasar Institute for Advanced Design is a leading centre for higher education in design and visual multimedia communication, based in Rome and internationally recognized. Founded in 1987, Quasar has been at the forefront of innovation in design education, and in 2017 it became the first academy in Italy to offer a MUR-accredited Game Design course. The Institute serves as a hub for the designers of the future, where academic learning, professional practice, avant-garde experimentation, and tradition converge to generate ideas, creativity, and professional opportunities. Quasar’s teaching method combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical, hands-on experience within the Quasar Lab, a dedicated prototyping and experimentation workshop. Thanks to a dense network of partnerships with 350+ leading companies, students engage with real-world projects, achieving a 96% placement rate within one year of graduation.
At Quasar, students combine theory and practice in a dynamic, immersive environment. All courses are project-based and led by professional faculty active in the design industry. Learning includes interactive lessons, workshops, seminars, and real-world projects. The Quasar Lab provides specialized tools for prototyping, 3D printing, laser engraving, and multimedia experimentation, ensuring students gain applied skills essential for professional success.
Quasar Institute for Advanced Design is located in the historic centre of Rome at Via Crescenzio 17/A, just steps from Piazza Cavour and Castel Sant’Angelo. Opened in 2016, the campus blends bright, minimal industrial-style spaces with state-of-the-art facilities: well-equipped studios, a large terrace, a specialized design library, a full photographic and production set, and the Q LAB with 3D printers, laser engravers, scanners, and prototyping tools. Immersed in Rome’s cultural and architectural heritage, the campus is ideal for applied design projects, collaborative workshops, and innovative research.
